About Georgia

Georgia WisemanI am a jewellery designer and I work from my home studio in Milngavie which is situated just north of Glasgow,  Scotland.  My partner and I have been here for nearly two years now and is our stepping stone in life on our way out to the hills, a weaning process from the bright fantastic lights of Glasgow!

Originally from Leicestershire I moved to Glasgow in 2000 to study a Jewellery & Silversmithing degree at the Glasgow School of Art, a fantastic establishment that gave me a vibrant foundation for my career in jewellery design.

Since graduating in 2003 I made it my mission  to gain as much experience as possible in both the art and commercial sides of the jewellery industry, spending time working in London alongside established designers in the craft and fashion industries.  Missing the banter and Glasgow’s vibes I moved back to Scotland and began the process of establishing myself as a designer.

Since establishing my workshop in 2005 assisted by the Scottish Arts Council and Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust I progressed to regularly exhibiting at Collect in the V & A Museum, was selected as member of Design-Nation an organisation that promotes British design internationally and have also been a recipient of the Design Innovation Award.  Most recently I was nominated for the Scottish Fashion Awards/Accessory Designer of the Year in 2009, which was great platform for me to showcase my collections to a wider audience in Scotland.

I think that’s enough about me for now, you’ll find out more in the blog where I’ll be giving you updates on the jewellery side of my business, design I like, inspiring images and places I visit.

My website www.georgiawiseman.com has more information about me, an online shop and showcases my full range of jewellery.
